Goal: Multiply runtime by 4–5× using an external 12V 35Ah AGM battery. No internal mods; wire to the UPS battery leads with a fuse. Battery is in a protected cabinet, so no external box.

3) Do This — Step by Step
Unplug the UPS from the wall and shut it down. Remove the small internal 9Ah battery to expose the two battery leads (red + / black −).
Cut wire: two lengths of 10 AWG (red & black). Keep runs short (under ~3 ft) to minimize voltage drop.
Crimp terminals: ring terminals on the battery end (yellow 12–10 AWG). On the UPS end, use spade/rings that fit the UPS battery leads. Heat‑shrink all crimps.
Install fuse in the positive line (ANL 50A) within 6–12″ of the battery. Optionally add the cutoff switch after the fuse.
Secure battery in the cabinet so it cannot slide or tip. Keep terminals covered/insulated; avoid any metal objects near them.
